FAQs
What should I wear?
The Dance Alloy Theater School does not have a dress code, but students should be in clean, comfortable, close-fitting clothes.
No tights or socks on the dance floor.
Ballet students should have ballet slippers.
Bare feet are a must for First Steps, Creative Movement, Modern Dance Workshop, and Introduction to Dance.
No street shoes are permitted on studio floors. While some classes require shoes, they must be inside shoes with soft soles only.
How do I know which level is best for me?
In classes that offer multiple levels, it is recommended that beginning and beginning intermediate level dancers enroll into level one. For those with more dance experience, intermediate to advanced, the level II class is recommended.
Can parents observe children's classes?
Parents are permitted in the studio for the "First Steps" class only. There is a lobby outside the main studio for waiting parents. Some teachers may permit the parents to observe the first and last class of the session, but this is up to the individual teacher. If you are observing your child's class, please do not talk or distract your child. Students should not bring snacks or toys to class.
What if a class is canceled?
A full refund will be made if Dance Alloy cancels the activity. Dance Alloy Theater reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment.
If a teacher is sick, Dance Alloy Theater will find a substitute teacher. If we are unable to do so and have to cancel a class, we will let you know. (Please provide the best contact phone number during registration.) The cancelled class will be re-scheduled by the instructor of the class.
If there is bad weather will there be class?
Rarely are classes canceled due to inclement weather, but if this does occur, Dance Alloy Theater will notify WTAE-TV and www.thepittsburghchannel.com.
All information regarding class cancellations will be found at these two sources.
What if I miss a class?
Missed class may be made up in any other class the Dance Alloy Theater School offers within the same semester as they are missed.
What is your refund policy?
Withdrawals before the first class receive a full refund. WithdrawalsÊafter the first class incur a $15 first class fee with the remaining balance refunded. There are absolutely no refunds after the second class.
THERE ARE NEITHER TRANSFERS NOR PRORATED RATES.
How do I apply for a scholarship?
Scholarships are available with support of the Allegheny Regional Asset District and The Pittsburgh area Jitterbug Club to those who show financial need. To receive an application, please contact Dance Alloy Theater directly.
